Many writers will tell you that they have messy, crazy, often chaotic writing processes that work for them. They don’t focus on being perfectly neat and organized.

If they were to work linearly in an outline format (eg: how we are usually taught to write academic style in school), that often wouldn’t work. Both ADHDers and society at large— could learn something from this.

Something that worked for me when I was tweaking my writing process years ago (I still am;): I focused on being organized enough (key word: enough), and let my creativity take the lead. This method amplified my strengths without ignoring my struggles, which in turn increased my confidence and joy in writing, school and life.

Key point: Embrace being organized enough, not perfectly organized.
